Hinohara Falls, Japan

This was my favorite place in Japan. I was stationed at Yokota AB Japan for 2 years. Yokota was approximately 45 km Northwest of Tokyo. Hinohara falls was another 30 km west of Yokota AB. I made several trips to Hinohara. It wasa the most peaceful spot I found there.

Hinohara Falls Entrance, Japan

This was just past the entrance on the 20 minute walk to the falls. The entire area around the falls is just stunning.

Christchurch, New Zealand

There are a lot of beautiful places around the world. I am not sure that I have seen any more beautiful than New Zealand. This picture was taken in a park in Christchurch. We were there for 2 weeks in support of Operation Deep Freeze. Our part in Operation Deep Freeze was Ground crew for C-141 and C-5's. We were responsible for launch, recovery and maintaining these aircraft as they flew back and forth between ChristChurch, New Zealand and McMurdo Sound, Antartica.

C-5 On the Ice, McMurdo Sound, Antartica

This was truely a site to behold. After a 5 hour flight downrange, we landed in McMurdo Sound. There is not a runway there, it is just the ocean. Where we are parked in this picture is 9 feet of ice on top of the ocean. We weighed approximately 600,000 lbs, offloaded 72 scientists 36 pallets of cargo. After the offload they loaded a crane that the boom had broken in 1/2 due to the frigid temperatures. We took on fuel and flew the 5 hours back to ChristChurch.

Yosemite National Park, California

Yosemite is simply stunning. Ansel Adams' pictures portray the beauty and majesty of Yosemite. Even though he used black and white film he was able to capture so many aspects of the park. I took this picture on my way out of the park after shooting 10 rolls of film that day. I can say it was one of the most memorable days in my life. I can still remember driving around that park, treking through the open fields, along the rivers, looking at El Capitan and Half Dome. I remember the spray from the waterfalls as the falls on the right side of this picture fell down on me.

My Backyard, Evansville, Indiana

Pretty, isn't it?

Welcome to my web site.   Fryesonline.com is a place for me to share information with others.   This site is for friends, family, co-workers or anyone who stumbles along and finds it interesting.   My interests cover a wide area of areas, and if you chose to go through the site you will fine that out.  I have travelled a lot over the years, especially with the military.   I recorded a lot of my years with a camera.  Photography was an interest growing up, however our finances were never there to allow me to buy a camera.  Once I hit the military and made it to tech school, I bought a used Minolta 570 camera from a friend and my life in photography exploded.   I became your worst nightmare, took camera everywhere and was constantly taking pictures.   I intend to constantly upload some of the pics I have taken over the years, from around the world to out my back door.   I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
